We build 2 levels of Sprag Turbo 400s. Our entry level 400 will handle more power than some competitors best unit. If you are looking for the strongest TH400 built, you have come to the right place. We only build sprag units up to 1300HP.
All Units We clean all parts and perform a complete part by part inspection to ensure that we use the best cores. We disassemble each Gear set and inspect every single gear pinion and replace all pinion thrust washers. We cryo treat our gear sets after they have been rebuilt. The bushings are replaced with better than OEM bushing kits. We pay attention to every detail. We start with Hi Quality Parts that makes for a Hi Quality finished product. We only Use Griner Billet Valvebodies on all of our 400s.

Stage 2 1300 HP
Extreme Automatics Stage 2 is designed for Pro tree heads up racing for applications 1300HP or less. This trans has been 8.50s @ 155 MPH in a 3450 Car. The Stage 3 has more standard than the other guys have options. The Griner Trans Brake is the fastest in the industry and has been used on more record setting cars than all the other manufactures combined. The Standard Stage 3 Has 7lb less rotating mass than a stock TH400. The Stage 2 if you are looking for a super strong 400 with a lightning fast Trans Brake, Lightning Fast shifts and a little less weight.

****Boost Builder Hi Stall Option****
Boost Builder is a Hi Stall option that is built into the transmission to allow a temporary increase in stall. This option will increase the Stall of any torque converter approximately 1000 RPM. Typically a Turbo car would use boost builder to increase stall to spool the turbo faster. When the turbo boost is up the boost builder is then turned off so the converter will then return to normal stall for top end slip efficiency. We have seen this setup spool large turbos and maintain 3% top end slip percentage with the proper torque converter. The Boost builder will work with any torque converter. The Competitors Super Sprag Exposed
Extreme Automatics does not install the so called Super Sprag. The 34 element sprag in a properly build transmission has proven to be reliable to about 1300HP. The Super Sprag has proven to hold even higher HP. I know you are asking yourself where I am going with this. The main problem with the Super Sprag is the cost factor. The typical drum cost from $600-$1000 in addition to the transmission build. Although It does increase the HP capability of the 2nd gear shift it still wears, it still breaks and you will never get the increased HP capability for the cash you spend.
